80 Salvadoran Chefs Cook Largest Pupusa

80 Salvadoran chefs cooked the largest Pupusa at the Fiesta D.C. festival over the weekend. Cooks started working on Saturday morning and created a pupusa filled with cheese and pork that was 20 feet and two inches wide. The previous record-holding pupusa was 18 feet wide. “We have so many pupuserias — actually, 270 pupuserias in the DMV [District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia],” chef Iris Veronica Jimenex said. “So it only made sense that we all got together and figured out a way to do this.” Fiesta D.C. celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month.
