Alan Bowling of Virginia is facing federal charges after allegedly stealing a truck from Yellowstone National Park while intoxicated. Court documents state that Bowling attempted to purchase beer at a store but his credit cards were declined. He then allegedly entered a Yellowstone Park Service Station heavy wrecker and drove off, going the wrong way on a one-way road before coming to a stop near the post office and ranger station. Rangers pursued Bowling on foot and detained him at gunpoint. Bowling claimed to be a United States Marshal and stated that he needed the truck to get to the marshal’s headquarters. He was found to be intoxicated and refused sobriety testing and a blood warrant. The incident resulted in charges including DUI, destruction of federal property, and disorderly conduct. (KPAX)
